Cast a line in our dam and try your luck with carp or largemouth bass, or simply sit back and enjoy incredible bird watching, keep an eye out for our resident fish eagles soaring above.
For water lovers, bring your own gear and enjoy swimming, kayaking, or floating on the dam. When the wind picks up, it’s the perfect spot for learning to kite surf without the rough ocean conditions.

Campsites
To accommodate our guests comfortably, our ablution facilities have been thoughtfully divided into male and female sections. Each side features two modern showers and two well-maintained toilet facilities, ensuring clean, private, and accessible amenities at all times.
For added practicality, we’ve also installed two outdoor wash-up basins, located just outside the ablution block. These are perfect for washing dishes, prepping meals, or rinsing gear after a day of adventure.
Whether you’re here for a quiet weekend retreat or an extended stay under the stars, our upgraded facilities are designed to enhance your camping experience.
Twlight Glamping Tent
Guests can enjoy the convenience of a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing meals effortlessly —whether you’re cooking up a quick breakfast or a family dinner. In the evenings, gather around the firepit and braai area, the ideal setting for sharing stories, enjoying grilled favourites, and soaking in the peaceful surroundings.
After a day of exploring, treat yourself to the ultimate relaxation in our wood-fired hot tub under the stars—a truly magical way to end the day.
Perfect for couples or small families, you can rent a single tent for a romantic getaway, or book both tents for a shared escape between two families. However you choose to stay, you’ll enjoy comfort, community, and a unique outdoor experience.

.Our newly renovated Main Barn offers an elegant and comfortable escape, perfect for families or small groups seeking a touch of luxury in a tranquil setting. Thoughtfully designed with style and warmth in mind, the barn features two beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms, comfortably accommodating up to four guests.
Step outside to the private patio and discover the highlight of your stay: a wood-fired hot tub with stunning views over the dam—included with your stay. It’s the perfect place to unwind, soak in the natural beauty, and enjoy peaceful moments, whether you’re watching the sunrise or stargazing at night.

About Us
What started as a simple conversation soon became the beginning of something truly special.
Shortly after my husband and I decided it was time for me to leave the corporate world behind, an unexpected opportunity came our way. A close friend of my husband’s — and owner of this beautiful farm — offered us the opportunity to rent a peaceful spot beside one of his dams. Although neither of us had experience in hospitality, there was something about the quiet beauty of the area that kept drawing us back.
After countless motorbike rides to the dam, long conversations, and many shared dreams, we decided to take a leap of faith.
On one of our trips home from Caledon, we started thinking about a name. With my English background and my husband’s Afrikaans roots, we wanted something simple and meaningful. I asked him if “bietjie” meant “a little something” in Afrikaans — he said yes. Since our little dream was built around a small dam, BietjieDam felt perfect. And so the journey began.
Built with my husband’s creative vision and craftsmanship, my love for warm and welcoming spaces, and our shared passion for nature, family, and the outdoors, BietjieDam was created as a place where people can slow down, reconnect, and enjoy life’s simple moments.
Today, BietjieDam offers a peaceful escape with camping, glamping, and a cosy pod set around the dam — a rustic retreat where nature, comfort, and unforgettable memories come together.

From Caledon, take the N2 east towards Riviersonderend and drive approximately 3.5 km until you pass the Die Woud turnoff on your right. Continue straight till you find BietjieDam clearly signposted on the same side.
